	Luangta's Project 'Thais help Thailand' Luangta Maha Bua's Project 'Thais help Thailand' + View Albums (4) The 'Project Thais' initiative to help Thailand (27 pictures) Luangta Maha Bua initiated 'Project Thais help Thailand' in 1998 to help Thailand out of the economic crisis. Many Thais offered gold, dollars and Thai currency to Luangta. Luangta then offered the dollars and the gold to the Thai nation Wat Asokaram in Bangkok (10 pictures) Photos showing the inauguration of the chedi (stupa) dedicated to all the arahants in Thailand, and the offering of gold and money for the project 'Thai's help Thailand' Collection of gold (12 pictures) Before the gold could be put into the national reserve, the different forms in which it had been offered (gold bars, gold rings, gold bangles, gold chains etc.) had to be melted down and purified. The photos here show the collection of these different forms of gold. Offerings of the donated gold and dollars to the Thai nation (16 pictures) On 15 separate occasions, Luangta Maha Bua personally offered the accumulated gold and dollars to the Thai Nation, so that it could be stored in the national treasure. On the 16th occasion, a few months after his death, his disciples made the offering for the last time. A total of more than $10 million and more than 13 tons of gold were given to the Thai State.
	Luangta Maha Bua's reverence for his own teacher Lungphu Mun (20 pictures) Luangta Maha Bua had the highest respect for his teacher Venerable Ajahn (Lungphu) Mun, whom he called 'Father, Mother and respected teacher'. To pay his respects, he often went to the monastery which had been the site of Lungphu Mun's cremation in Sakon Nakhon, or to the monastery (Wat Pa Ban Phue) where he had lived with Lungphu Mun until 1949.
