Welcome to Luangta Maha Bua


   Ajahn Maha Bua Ñāṇasampaṇṇo
(1913–2011), affectionately known as Luangta, was one of the most famous teachers of the Thai Forest Tradition of Theravada Buddhism. He was a Buddhist monk (bhikkhu) for 77 years, and by the time of his death his teachings had spread widely throughout Asia, and also to western countries.
 

  On this website, you can learn more about his life, his  teachings, and his forest monastery, Wat Pa Baan Taad near Udon Thani in Thailand.
 

  Luangta Maha Bua was famous for his talks (desanas), Those which have been translated into English or German and compiled into various books are available here, as are translations of the books he wrote himself. The site also contains a range of other resources, such as DVDs, mp3 copies of Luangta’s talks in English, and photos of Luangta Maha Bua, his relics, Baan Taad Forest Monastery and more.
